What's new

What's new

Every DevColab update, from the newest to the oldest.

Feature

Status, shortcuts and overlay

Choose your status and show what you're up to, control the call with shortcuts while a game has focus and see who's speaking on top of the game. Home now lives in the communities bar.

Improvement

Choose the stream encoder

The share dialog shows the encoders on your machine, recommends the best one and tells whether each uses the graphics card or the processor.

Improvement

Smoother streams

Screen sharing was rebuilt for games, movies and work: it uses the graphics card when it can, does not switch quality on its own and shows who is live without joining the call.

Feature

Friends and direct messages

When you sign in, DevColab opens on your friends and conversations. Talk to people from your communities without a channel, and see who each person is in one click.

Feature

Jira tasks and code together

Connect your community's Jira and work on tasks without leaving DevColab: the issue sheet acts in Jira with your account, and branches and PRs carrying the task key show up linked to it.

Feature

Jira on DevColab

Connect your community's Jira Cloud site: projects become channels with the sprint, the issues and the work moving through the conversation, open to whoever sees the project in Jira.

Feature

Community calendar

Every community now has a calendar: one-time or recurring events, with reminders in DevColab and by email, and a heads-up in the channel right on time.

Desktop app

DevColab on your computer

The desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux is here. Download it in the Desktop app section of the DevColab website.

Improvement

Steadier, lighter calls

We went through voice end to end based on your reports: audio no longer drops out, voices stay centered and calls are lighter on your computer.
